98 Degrees

Has anyone been outside lately!?

It feels like a blast furnace outside. Normally I wouldn't complain about the heat, but this summer has got to be one of the hottest summers I've experienced. I chose a terrible time to start growing out my hair. Hair aside, the weather is nearly unbearable and we are in the middle of a drought here in Texas.

Summer has just started and the heat index is already climbing over 100F (37C). So mother nature unleashes it's wrath, fields are burning and fish are dying due to the rising temperatures of the water. Not even the night is protection against the heat, it is currently 11:30 pm and the temperature outside is currently 89F (31C).

As usual your best defense against the heat is to stay indoors, wear light clothing and most importantly keep your fluids up. Of course you are going to have to go outside sometime, so if you have to go into the heat be sure to know the symptoms of heat exhaustion because it can worsen and turn to heat stroke if the proper care isn't given.

If someone has heat stroke you must remember to cool the individual down ASAP. Loosen the individuals clothing, get them to shade and if possible place ice on the persons neck armpits groin and inner thigh.

As much as anyone dislikes the weather, I'd like to close this out with a boy band that was as hot as our current temperature back in the 1990's. 98 Degrees.

I feel terrible about having ended this blog in a nostalgic boy band pun.

  4. Wow sounds very hot. Here in the tropics it's always about 90 pretty much. Can't say I mind though. Try to enjoy it if you can!

  7. It feels so hot, but it is apparently only in the high 80s here. It already hit 100, and that day didn't seem nearly as bad as the past week
